Who We Are

The Pagan Assembly of Nova Scotia (PANS) is a registered non-profit spiritual and religious organization that serves the diverse and growing Pagan community across the province. Our members include Druids, Wiccans, Heathens, Animists, Nordic Pagans, and others who follow earth-based or polytheistic spiritual paths.

Our central mission is to support the spiritual needs of Pagans in Nova Scotia by offering access to Rituals and Rites (weddings / hand fastings, funerals, naming ceremonies, coming-of-age rituals, and more). We continue to grow a database of training courses and a list of recognized training organizations to facilitate those who wish to become ordained clergy within their tradition, empowering them to serve their communities in both sacred and practical ways.

PANS functions as a spiritual/religious body, a “church” in legal terms, while remaining deeply respectful of the unique practices and beliefs within the various Pagan traditions. We also offer pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and a supportive network for solitary practitioners and established groups alike.

Our website is a hub for:

– Educational resources on pagan traditions

– Information on how to become ordained

– Guidance on conducting public rituals and ceremonies

– Sharing communications to support community events and news

– Insightful articles and resources

Our goal is to be an inclusive, welcoming, and affirming community. Whether you are a lifelong practitioner, a seeker exploring paganism for the first time, or simply curious, you are welcome here. PANS is a place where knowledge is shared, traditions are honoured, and community is nurtured.

“My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.”

                               – Jack Layton
