Pagan Assembly Use of Artificial Intelligence Policy


Preamble:
Given the resources available within our community/volunteer base and the environmental impact AI
has on our planet we ask that anyone creating content for PANS agreed and adhere to the policy below.

We understand that AI is a tool for some that can be used to enhance process or increase productivity
for media content. We also acknowledge that individual circumstances may apply and when presented, will be considered on a case by case basis. These individual scenarios will be reviewed by the Board of Executives.

Definition:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is technology that enables computers and machines to simulate human
learning, comprehension, problem solving, decision making, creativity and autonomy.

Policy:
The Pagan Assembly of Nova Scotia prohibits the use of AI to initially generate or to generate the bulk
content to be shared on behalf of the organization. This policy applies to all of PANS media, including
but not limited to social media posts, official documentation, website content etc.
In the event media has been created and is suspected or proved to be significantly AI generated, PANS
Executives reserve the to not use those materials.
Examples of acceptable use:
– For review of spelling and grammar e.g.: Grammerly
– Using speech to text applications like Siri
– For brainstorming, using AI as a sounding board to generate ideas, outlines
Examples of unacceptable use:
– Asking ChatGPT to create an image for posting
– Asking ChatGPT to draft a blog post/web content to be shared on PANS social media
– Relying solely on AI for research purposes to create content
